| How does Hob Nob help Emory students? |
|
Hob Nob will help you 1) discover what drives you, 2) learn from the professionals, and 3) try out the work.
We do this via a network of chapters on college campuses that bring students, alumni, and faculty together within an easy-to-follow framework that provides both individualized attention and group support over the course of your journey to find your dream career.
The introspection phase at the start refers to the guided process that helps chapter members understand and articulate their talents, passions, and values. This occurs through a curriculum of self-reflective exercises and guest presentations that are individualized to each member's journey by 360 degree discussions that provide feedback and suggestions from other chapter members.
The investigation phase refers to an easy-to-follow framework that gets chapter members out of the workshop and into interactions with successful professionals who've "been there, done that" in the fields members are interested in exploring. These interactions are affectionately referred to as Leader Spotlights because they are recorded so that other chapter members can learn from the Spotlights you conduct and you can learn from theirs, taking the benefits of these one-on-one conversations to a one-to-many format.
The internship phase is a deep dive into your chosen field to learn about the day-to-day working life of the field you're considering entering. We'll also build on the lessons and processes covered in the previous two phases, with an increased emphasis on "networking to learn" while building genuine relationships.
Students selected to participate in this chapter framework will have the opportunity to stay involved over the course of their student, and even alumni, careers. This year-over-year involvement allows our 3 step process to be an iterative approach that yields new insights with each consecutive pass through it. |
